Emerging Leaders Meetup And Social Social event Offsite Location
City Tavern
Description :

The best part of Emerging Leaders is all of the people that you get to meet. So, this meetup is for all of the Emerging and Emerged Leaders in ALA. If you’ve been involved in the program in any capacity or if you’re interested in seeing what EL is all about for next year, come by and talk to some good people. There will be many alumni here to share their experiences with the program as well as mentors from current and previous years. This is also your opportunity to have some drinks, be social, and make those important connections that will help you out years from now.

If you’re not involved in EL, you should come out and have some drinks with us too! This is an open invite for everyone to #partyhard with us.

The City Tavern has been called the "BEST PLACE TO MEET PEOPLE...DOWNTOWN", "BEST DOWNTOWN HANGOUT", and "BEST DOUBLE FISTED DRINKING" spot by the folks at the Dallas Observer. For more information on the venue check out, located at 1402 Main Street.

The ALA Facebookers After-Hours event returns to Midwinter in Dallas (10:00 pm - 2:00 am, LaGrange: 2704 Elm St.)!

As usual, this will be the best-attended social event at the conference, so invite all your friends so they don't miss out!

There's a cover charge BUT we don't have to pay it. Librarians go straight through the silver doors to a separate room and NOT into the line where they will be asking for a cover.

It's only a few doors down from the Tweet-up at the Anvil Pub (which runs 7:30-10pm)! View the FB event at

So why not use some of the same technologies to increase library effectiveness? In this session, Kathryn Harnish, OCLC’s product manager for the platform, describes several approaches that OCLC is taking to enable libraries—and their partners—to customize workflows, enhance the user experience and increase overall effectiveness.
