The ACRL Copyright Discussion Group focuses on copyright related issus of current interest to college and university librarians. Litigation and legislative developments related to orphan works and ditial libraries will be the topic of discussion at Midwinter 2012.

This discussion group is open to everyone from experienced project managers to those new to digitization initiatives. As more resources are indexed online and as more researchers begin their quest in a digital environment, unique local collections and institutional repositories play an ever more important role. The development of standards for these materials and ensuring their long-term preservation is crucial. Please join the Standards Committee and the Holdings Committee to learn more about RDA for Non-MARC testers. Discover how the PIRUS2 project (Publisher and Institutional Repository Usage Statistics) is enabling the recording and reporting of articles hosted by aggregators or in repositories. Learn how preservation standards can ensure the long-term protection of digital collections.

JSTOR has spearheaded new efforts in support of its not-for-profit mission to extend access to the content on the platform, including Books at JSTOR, the Current Scholarship Program (CSP), and releasing the Early Journal Content freely to the world. This session will cover JSTOR’s vision for integrating books on to the JSTOR platform and how CSP addresses user needs and can increase library’s goals for information delivery and access. Additionally, we will discuss how JSTOR helps institutions leverage their investments in broadening access to local content and providing access options to unaffiliated scholars through the Register and Read program.

The website configuration tools let you easily customize the appearance and behavior of your digital collections. And the new commenting, tagging and rating features encourages users to engage with your online collections.

The Library Consortia and Systems Interest Group provides a forum for discussing emerging trends in technology and their impact on library consortia and their supporting structures. The Interest Group is an open interest group and welcomes all consortia members.

Social event co-sponsored by the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies and Chief Officers of State Library Agencies. Come enjoy desserts and an open bar and mingle with librarians from state libraries, networks and cooperatives; special populations librarians; and independent librarians and consultants.
