Hear how OCLC’s Web-scale solutions are changing every step of the library’s workflow: acquisitions, circulation, electronic resource management, resource sharing, discovery, metadata management and more. This session will include updates on recent publications from the OCLC Office of Research.

Journal publishing has proven to be an extremely valuable and popular service for libraries to provide their campuses. The result has been a dramatic growth in library-hosted journals, putting libraries in a position to make a real difference in the publishing market. In this session, Bill Garrison (Dean of Libraries) and Todd Chavez (Director of Academic Resources) at University of South Florida describe their program to “rescue” journals that are poorly served by the traditional publishing model, offering an open access home for endangered and emerging scholarship.

A demonstration and discussion of ACRL Metrics for current (and prospective) subscribers. Demonstration will highlight key capabilities including peer group comparisons, built-in report templates, and export capabilities.

Update on plans for RDA implementation, Bibliographic Framework Transition, and other intiatives

The ACRL Copyright Discussion Group focuses on copyright related issus of current interest to college and university librarians. Litigation and legislative developments related to orphan works and ditial libraries will be the topic of discussion at Midwinter 2012.
